This blog is written by Steve Williams. Some years ago I stepped off the City treadmill with the intention of building a better work/life balance. As my work as an accountant reduced, and my children grew up, my wife and I started cruising. It has become a bit of a habit if I’m honest. It is a perfect way of dipping into cities around the world, trying a beer or two in each port of call, and taking in a few different spots each cruise.
It struck me that the research I was doing, and some of the great places and beers that I was finding, would be of interest to other cruisers so I have started writing and publishing this blog. I very much hope you enjoy reading it.
I have been a “beer geek” since I was a teenager 40 odd years ago. I have judged at many beer competitions and have represented CAMRA as Regional Director for London. I was also the first secretary of the London Brewers’ Alliance. My previous effort at beer blogging was the Beer Justice Blog. In 2010, I was the winner of the London Ale Taster competition.
I have been a member of the British Guild of Beer Writers for many years.
